It was only a few days back that Hap Seng Star, one of Mercedes-Benz vehicles authorized dealers in the country, held a roadshow in Bangsar Shopping Centre. The key attraction of the show along the likes of Mercedes-Benz A25, E200, GLA35, C300, and AMG GLB35 was a special edition Vito Tourer.
Called the Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer Special Edition, the model sits on top of the model lineup and caught the attention.
The all-new Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer Special Edition is priced at RM 379,888 on the road without insurance for private registration. Thus making it the most expensive Vito Tourer variant in the country. The previous top-of-the-line model, the Vito Tourer Exclusive, is RM20K cheaper.
Powering the Vito Tourer Special Edition model is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine generating a maximum power output of 211 hp at 5,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 350 Nm from 1,300 to 4,000 rpm. The drive is sent to the rear wheels via a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission.
On the outside, the Vito Tourer Special Edition surely looks more premium than its siblings. The makers have tried giving it a Maybach-like look and feel. Part of the car's exterior feature kit is - a special edition exterior styling package, 17-inch 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, high beam assist PLUS, electrically adjustable & folding exterior mirror, LED intelligent light system, and roof rails.
On the inside the special edition, Vito Tourer not only looks but feels premium with the luxury inclusions made by the brand. Part of the specs sheet is - captain seat configuration for rear 1st row with power recline, sliding, & ottoman, electric adjustable front seat with memory function, auto-dimming driver side exterior mirror, quick release seat rails system, leather multi-function steering wheel, luxury overhead control panel, quick release seat rails system, 4-way lumbar support for driver & passenger. Also part of the kit is THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control and TEMPMATIC semi-automatic climate control at the rear.
The multimedia setup includes a 7-inch touchscreen display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. It also comes with Audio 30 and Bluetooth connectivity.
The car’s safety and assistance package are strong as ever with inclusions like 6 airbags, active brake assist, active distance assists DISTRONIC, anti-theft alarm system, blind spot assist, attention assist, crosswind assists, high beam assist PLUS, hill-start assist, lane keeping assist, lane tracking package, rain sensor, reversing camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, and PARKTRONIC.
